I just haul back and heave the strap over, and my deck is 5'6" high, but I am 6'4" and have quite the wingspan. :)

That works until you have a load that does not have a solid flat surface on the top for the roll to runout on. But that is how I do mine too. Kinda like a hook shot but I am only 5'8" or vertically challenged but the strap still goes over.

Yep. Throwing straps over hay in Alberta winds will make you learn how to get it done.

    Now that's something I'd use!

Oh I'm going to get it down. I just had a couple to throw today so not a lot of time to waste. The way rank shows is how I have been doing it in the past. I just can't quite get them over my regular flatbed sometimes. I feel like an idiot when I just throw it and it bounces off the side of the hay. That slingshot feels like it will be way easier and maybe more accurate too once I get the hang of it.

    Thanks agian

Had a truck parked next to me. We both had loads of air conditioners, high loads. I did the slingshot, but instead of the strap coming down the other side of my trailer, it went over the top of the trailer next to me. So I had to climb up the side and use the Happy Hooker to pull the straps down.

I know of a 2 handed underneath slingshot through that works pretty well just need to stand far enough away you don't hit the edge of the load and bounce it back at yourself
