Main belt broke IH40E NM 1.5 hrs ago. Currently waiting on the shoulder for a mechanic because dumb ##* me didn’t heed my advise to myself and buy extra set of belts the other day when I said to myself you should buy them now. But I digress...

Does NO ONE care about moving to the left lane away from a big truck on the shoulder? Apparently not. Im amazed to say the least. Oh occasionally some will slide over but by and large it’s just hammer down!

I know it can be scary. Be careful and stay safe.

find a gator, walk back about 1000 yards and place it in the slow lane.

It will give you something else to watch

So many trucks park on the shoulder to pee that I rarely get over.
But if they have their triangles out, and standing up, I’ll try my best to move over.

That’s a novel idea. If nothing else looking for that would give me something to do while I wait.

Yep. I get that and triangles are out, flashers on, fully loaded and they just keep on coming.

Them triangles only last a few seconds out anymore, some try to run them over, the safest place to be is way off the road where you can still see your truck. sitting on the shoulder you are a sitting duck, and putting a gator out can make some one hit it and go out of control plus a car can come along and be destroyed, aint going to say what its like hitting one of those on a motorcycle.

Take an old pair of jeans and boots and lay them under your truck so they are sticking out in the lane.

Maybe even take it a step further and dump some red paint around them.

    Watch the chaos ensue.

Collect some rocks. Lob them out your window as they pass.

Most wont move over. But when they are on the shoulder, they would like you to move over.
