i have had my cdl for over 3 years, last march i was pulled over in one of thoes speed trap lil towns in ar, you know how they post 45 to 35 in less than 15 yards, apparently this is on my record, was wondering my chances of getting on with a company, since i am out of work now due to job changes?

So you werent even slowing down for the 45? Then you got busted in a 35? If my math is correct 22 over the posted 35 is 57.

I would think if that is your only ticket it wouldnt be a problem. But then again assumptions are just that.

    Wargames Thanks this.

Even though you didn't get charged for reckless driving, >15 mph over companies look at it as such. You'll have a hard time finding a company to take you on for 3 years.

Your best bet is finding a dump truck job with some small outfit that don't check that stuff.

You try to justify 45 to 35? Even at that you were doing 12 over in the 45. Your CDL is your livelyhood. Protect it!

Some companies will hire you and some won't. If you have a cdl and depend on it to make a living, you should go to court and get these tickets off your record or have it reduced to 14 over. It's not the end of the world but insurance companies will have a hard time with it. I had a failure to stop at a RxR crossing that haunted me for 7 years. Since then I wen't to court on every ticket unless the officer told me up front that it stays with the county and won't go on my record.

This will only be a problem when it comes to qualifying for your employers insurance.

So yes it will be a problem.

20 over has been a major problem for me, it has kept me from getting many jobs. Actually that has not been such a bad thing, it kept me from being eligible for a job at Werner, May, Gordon, etc. (That I would have hated) And I have been able to find local driving work (home every night) for similar or better pay.

FYI Gents: 13 over is felonious flight and deputy dawg can arrest you.... suspecting you just committed a felony. No sheet. No proof required.

Source: Local Diesel Bear and personal friend. ( He's got some cool sheet in his Suburban )

Are you saying 13 mph over the speed limit is a felony?
