Late 90's Honda 900rr. I don't know if the cop tagged me powering up or coming back down. That bike would bump the rev limiter around 170 on the speedometer.....so probably more like 165 actual speed. I've had a few other sportbikes but that was the bike I was on that morning. Today I have no more sportbikes. Today I own a Suzuki DR650 (on/off road) mostly for commuting because of the great fuel mileage, but I still play around on it from time to time, take road trips and everything else on it. It will top out around 100mph, plus from 0-70 it's about as fast as a 90's Mustang GT so getting away from cars in the city is pretty easy. It cruises easy at 70-80 but because I have a knobby on the back, both the bike and myself prefer 60-65. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Good man.. I quit the sprtbike gig when I got my CDL.. That #### thing just aint worth me losing my license. I now ride a Harley. I just couldnt seem to travel the speed limit on sport bikes. To each his own though.

your posting is very offensive to me, and as such i reported it to the Admin/mods. you insulted me and MY profession of teaching. there was absolutely NO NEED on your part to group us instructors into the bottom feeder category. i would truly like to see anyone that insults us (like you did) to even try our job not for one day, but the the entire length of the training a student MUST go through. i think only then would you appreciate (if you are of normal intelligence) what WE DO each and every day with what WE HAVE TO WORK WITH....think its as easy as YOU THINK......or blurt out at another.....???

I based that statement on instructors that say things like we could care less when they go out the door. As you have. You cry that I'm telling you how to teach and you couldn't be more wrong. It's my feelings that anyone with any years of experince should continue to pass on information to the younger drivers. I don't care if they are what you claim. You can help the problem or be part of it. It's your choice.

I feel what you do in your personal life is exactly that personal. I drive fast in my personal vehicle all the time. I also have yet to have any ticket or accident. Ya ya I know the day is coming I don't need to be told that. I drive to the rules of the road when I am driving truck. In the truck I have to drive that way because an accident in the truck more than likely will kill someone. I know what I am driving and drive accordingly.

In my pickup, I am not trying to gloat or anything, but I am an extremely good driver as compared to most around me. I was the guy who would go out into a field and practice sliding and getting myself out of it, I have honed my skills myself in a closed enviroment so to say. I speed like there is no tomorrow and I know it is wrong. I don't have exact answer why but I think it has alot to do with the adrenaline rush of pushing a vehicle to its limits whether it be off road or onroad. Also we do not have alot of traffic on the highways, somedays I am lucky to meet more than 10 vehicles.

Anyways what I am getting at is silverb could be like me speeds when he is in his personal but a good conscientious driver in his rig but in my opinion on paper it doesn't look good to a potential company but it also shouldn't be looked at as a hire or no hire if it is his only offence. And he most certainly shouldn't be crucified by anybody on here being the moral police.
