Always being upfront and honest is the best policy. Deal with it and move on, nothing you can change now, just learn from the experience and move forward.

Yes, it looks bad on future jobs.
Tell your employer because when they run the annual MVR check on the drivers, they will find out and probably fire you for not disclosing it.
Don't snitch on yourself for things such as scratching a trailer, but you can't hide an MVR report.

Hate to say it, bit talking on a cell phone is a HUGE no-no in the trucking world. You really need to get it pled to something else.

You would have been better off throwing the phone out the window.

Then when he came to your car: "what phone officer?"

That reminds me of one time in Maryland. At an inspection station the DOT officer stopped me and climbed on the truck screaming at me to hand over my radar detector. "They're illegal in Maryland, so I'm confiscating it and giving you a ticket." This guy was furious like he planned to kill me. I told him I don't have radar detector, so he pointed to my black sunglasses case velcroed to the dash and screamed,"What's that then?" He was really furious and beet red faced he was so angry that is was sunglasses, so he had to let me go.
Guess he missed out on High-fivin' his buddies that he stuck it to another peasant.

Just receiving a ticket, don't say a thing.

After you are convicted, or plead guilty,

then you need to own it.

Fight every ticket, it's well worth the money.
