OMG peoples, it is a very serious ticket. It is so serious that I am surprised that they let him back into the truck without doing another road test.

Seriously OP, it is a non-concern ticket, don't even worry about it. If it pops up, no one will care.

Just make sure the chains are on right and don't end up getting falling off the wheel!!
Nothing like driving up a mountain grade and hearing discarded chains go crunch!!

Don't worry, and I hope you now know how to chain?

And then keep your speed @ 25 mph and wait until the pull outs that are for taking your chains off and do not piss there, we have to crawl around in that crap.

You will have more troubles with companies because of the wreck than the ticket. Sliding into a ditch isn't really a big deal as it sound like no damage. If you didn't actually slide into a ditch though it's not worth worrying about at all.

I'd have asked him.. "what's the purpose of the secondary chaining location?"
That was just wrong. I guess they'd rather you park in the traffic lane.

    In WA that's a $500 ticket.

OP, take a little self interest and chain up in a dry parking lot.

My attorney tried that; and basically, the Judge pretty much said that.. this was Eagle county in Colorado.. this happened around Vail.. there are 3 chain up areas in a 3 mile area starting up the mtn... but, if you pass the 1st one because it is full; you get a ticket if you are even in the process of chaining up in the 2nd or 3rd one! Seriously! I was so freaking mad!

    jammer910Z Thanks this.

Then line up at the first one. Elephant walk everyone into that one first area only. Close the interstate if you have to with the herd.

Well, ok.. I guess I could have; but..... it was 55 degrees in Grand Junction! Lol! When I viewed the chains required light all the chaining areas were completely full.. I would have had to double park and be out in the highway while chaining with 4 wheelers still just barreling by... I guess $650 is worth paying to stay alive for a bit longer! Lol
