What is common sense? I never see it any more. I'll put my Right turn signal on. pull only half way out of the lane, and some Nit wit will pull right up my right side. I put my tractor in front of one on a empty street one day and climbed over to the pass side put the window down and asked the driver what part of a right turn signal did he not understand!

It may be so but I'd have to see the law. I'd rather see the sign that says "If you can not see me in the mirrors then I can not see you" But then agin you have to have the public use common sense which is a rarity. Or how about a sign that says " Drivers moving along side of this truck turning right will be subject to deadly force".

One of our drivers got a $900 ticket for not having the sign on the back of the trailer. It was his 3rd warning for it. All warnings and tickets were issued in Jersey. They could not find the law in the book for it when they warned him and then they taicketed him for it.:dontknow:

I checked with a trooper here. The more common infraction is the turn signal being out midway on a trailer. (some trailers, not all, have the amber turn indicating that when the trailer is on a angle that the trailer is turning). Yes it is goofy, yet as other threads have posted, put ten troopers and ten scale persons in a room and ask them about a law, you will get 20 different answers.

Right now up here the Commercial Troopers are more interested in the logging trucks, than the regular dry vans.
