Doing what? Not many local jobs paying 700.00 week that aren't trucking or union act of god to get hired. All the factory jobs are going, going, gone.

I'm curious. How many hours a day do you work? My husband has worked local in the past and got tired of working graveyard shifts (tanker) and 14 to 16 hour days (local driver), not the most desirable way to make a living. And yeah, he was home everyday (for what that was worth....home long enough to sleep, just to get up and do it again. Plus he had a 70 mile round trip commute everyday, and many times 6 days a week just to make ends meet (barely). He says "no thanks". He likes being over the road. Alot of these expenses that are incurred on the road are tax deductible. So it's not that bad. This way when he takes his days off there is quality time with his family.

I think you just gotta keep workin and movin through companies to you get to the one that treats you the way you want to be treated. That may take some time but many drivers do get to that sweet spot sooner or later if you stick around long enough. Just don't burn bridges when you move! DAC reports tend to have the last laugh. And all companies will do whats best for them before they do right by you, drive the truck and deal with it smartly!

    Locdrjr Thanks this.
