I'm not loving this dedicated spot I have myself in right now, and the way they calculate fuel and rate leaves a little, or actually a lot, to be desired. With all the turmoil with fuel and such,

I think it's time for a little break.

Tabled my resignation today, I'll park the old girl and see how this all plays out. I have a standing offer to do flatbed work, I think a vacation for a couple weeks to ponder it is in order.

Just need a beach and some beer.

Wondering how many others will be doing the same?

Why wouldn't you just go get freight that pays you correctly ?
Quitting seems illogical.. unless there's something I'm missing ??

I hardly ever get calls from guys about leasing on. I’ve already gotten two this week. I’d say there are a great many feeling worried right now.

I'm way over on the east coast of Canada, ALL the freight over here is handled by a few of the big companies. There are a few small carriers, mostly deck and specialty stuff, but owner ops will starve getting in and out of here.
Staying in upper canada running south back and forth and just coming home a few times a year isnt an option for me st this stage in my life. So be a broker, or sell the truck. Local container work is PENNYS, so not Interested in that.
I have an offer from a deck company I may take.

Maybe I missed something but the way I read his post was he was just taking a break I didn't read anything about quitting..
    I can't say as I blame him
I decided to take a 2 or 3 week vacation myself.. untill things settle out a little . I have no intention of throwing in the towel

Lone Star, Shiner, Pabst, Hamms, all kinds of beer here. Hey, that rhymes, I’m a poet and don’t even know it.

I've never had Shiner.. but the other 3 you mentioned are all real good in my book !!
Nothing better than a ice cold Lone Star and smoked brisket with home potato salad
