    Thank you

All GPS is pretty much the same with the exception of Garmin's Aviation series.

You will want the dash cam anyway, takes care of the he said she said right away at the scene.

I got a Rand TND 740 last December and love it. The only time its given me any issues has been if the unit was extremely cold, or extremely hot... Let the temp of unit normalize and it started working properly again.

My company just switched to a diferemt ELD that also has that Copilot GPS... I ran it side by side with my Rand for a few weeks to see what it was like. It was fine for the "Big Road"... But I didnt like some of the places it tried to send me through town, and that is where I really need the GPS the most. So I no lnger use it at all... And wouldnt trust it if I had to use it.

Rand McNally software, mapping, information, content, whatever you want to call it is great but the hardware sucks. And when it breaks down and becomes unusable, which it will within 18 months or less, then most people are going to wind up giving them or someone else another 250 or whatever dollars. Failure can be a good business model.

You gotta go in setting and change freeways to strongly preferred and highways to preferred, then it becomes very good

I started out with the RM TND730. Loved the software but the hardware was crap. Tried a couple Garmins and love the hardware but hated the software. Bought the RM 740 about 3 months ago and really enjoying it. No issues at all so far and it's much better than the previous model in every aspect.

My issue with RM 740 is that RM doesn't update the maps often enough. Received August map update in December. Nothing since.

Yeah, I’ve had two Rand McNally devices, and they had technical issues. I now have a Garmin and no technical issues. To be fair, Garmin has been in the GPS business much longer. Rand McNally is behind by a decade.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
