Playing with the settings is key to getting good routing outcomes. When I pull permitted loads I extensively use the "Via" feature, plotting specific points on the map by touching the screen. Usually that is best done by selecting the final destination, then working backwards and try to use as few Via points as possible.

Copilot was all I ever used the entire 7 years otr.

Tried Rand for 2 weeks. That was enough for me. Traded it in for pcmiler. Which I later found out was copilot.
Sygic gps is also available and I think cheaper then copilot last I looked.

I use a Garmin 760 and will cry when it dies. It doesn't require internet for the basic features to work (FM traffic for example) and it's simple.

I tried a Rand 8" tablet because ELD. I'm sure it has it's fans, but not me. Way too much customization required to get it to work even half right. Doesn't help it's loaded with features I don't care about. After the ELD side of that solution turned out to be a giant fail, I went with another time keeper that actually works, and pitched the Rand in the pile of unloved gadgets and forgot about it.

Not long ago I dug it out and tried it again for some reason. Forced myself to use it for almost 2 weeks. After the second time it had me playing "guess the ramp" in a complex intersection, it went back to paper weight duty.

To be honest, none of the new GPS models offered appeal to me. They all suffer from the same overabundance of useless features as my 2 yr old Rand tablet. And they add more crap on every new version. Seriously, if my 760 dies I'll try to find a new old stock one on eBay before I buy anything in a store.

Garmin is what we use. I have maybe a few dozen Rands sitting in a storage locker because the drivers didn't like them or they crapped out on us.

Works great, goes stupid sometimes, but quickly recovers.

    Just like many others.

Common sense isn't always enough when using Google. When you get stuck somewhere and can't turn around. please take pictures and post them here.

I’ve used both RM and Garmin, decided on the Garmin because it’s what I used in aviation. Haven’t had any issues yet with the 780 after just under a year of use.
