I hear you on the long hours. An ideal trucking job for me would be a 40 hour work week and a $25+/h wage. :biggrin_2559:

i dont mind long hours, but 14on, 10 off with a 45 min commute each way sucks. If i was makeing UPS money i wouldnt mind so much.

yea they're terminal in like 20 min from me. I've thought about them i just need to be 23. They also require you to stay out 3 weeks from what i've been told. Thats a long time in a 60" flattop lol

I just came in from a 7 week ride, thought it was 9 weeks but lost track of the weeks.

But I made 3 times the money you do by staying out.

At my company the longer I stay out the more I make. They give me longer and better runs and the paychecks are consistent so to me its definitely worth it.

Try a company Howells motor freight out of Roanoke, va. They have a huge terminal in Charlotte of WT harris. They are usually looking for local drivers out of Charlotte and also have a line haul division that are home on weekends. I drove for them for 7 years, and all and all they weren't a bad company. Call 1-800-444-0585 and ask for Trish. they also have a web site Howell's Motor.com Good luck!

Now that I did some thinking, your best bet for now would be to look into another LTL company. Reason being is that they are more easier to get on with. They pretty much know how all the other LTLs are due to drivers quitting and going to them. Stay at a good LTL for some time then look into a better job if anything.
