Morning Rank, I had my right lung punctured at age 20 in an accident, got bruised in a 1961 Chevy truck that turned over when I was 14. Lost most of my front teeth and required stitches in my face from the dash board of a 66 Chevy truck that collided with an AMC Ambassador. But of all bumps and bruises I have had, I was a passenger. When my lung was busted I was in the back seat of a Chevette, sure you remember those. When I'm driving I don't allow people to look in my right mirror neither, you want to look in it you drive. I've always tried to be careful as I could. I did bump the bank and bent my bumper on my 67 Ford F100, manual steering and the rag joint broke throwing my into the bank heading up the mountain to the house, 25 mph road. Not saying I haven't had my share of close calls, but never got dog knotted with any other vehicles.

Rank, it's really not all that uncommon. Like Oldskool says, a lot of close calls avoiding other peoples idiocy, but other than one incident 28 years ago (A lane change swipe, my fault, or rather my naked wife on the doghouse's fault. Ruined a set of lug nut covers.) I've never been involved in another accident. Been hit once or twice while parked, and a few animal strikes, but no 'knotting':biggrin_2556: along the way.

OLDSKOOLERnWV, rank and truckon Thank this.

Sorry Hammer, but I have to disagree with that. Think about that accomplishment for a minute. What percentage of drivers do you think get to that feat? I bet at least 30% of all drivers don't make 2 yrs.

Then there are the ones (like me, knocking on wood) that are "at fault accident" free, meaning I have been hit by others.

I bet there aren't 1 driver in 50 that has reached one million miles in a truck totally accident free. Maybe 1 in a 100.

Keep in mind it's not an impossible thing.... Spent right at 11 years with EZ now pulling an RGN lowboy, the tandem International straight truck pulling a HDD rig with twin 750 gal tanks, various bucket trucks, manitex crane, and averaged 83,000 to 104,000 miles yearly. So far 0 problems in close to a million miles. That does not include any of the miles for R&L Drilling pulling the beam trailer, or any miles at Machinery Hauling, H&W, or Powers Interprise. And I feel fortunate because accidents happen.
