Time for Big Cam rebuild..550Hp...Taking suggestions

    You have to check everything out to see what shape the rest of the engine is in. You may get by just putting a piston and liner in number 6 but I would do a complete rebuild.

    Pull the pan check the crank out big time. If that's OK put a set of liners and pistons in it replace the connecting rod on #6 roll a set of bearings replace the back head along with all gaskets and hoses and new injectors and should be ready to go.

    This list was the standard for my first boss's repair anytime we had a Cummins let loose. A couple more things he did if they hadn't been done already were switch back to air to air intercooling higher oil pressure min 40 psi at idle and high flow instead of low flow cooling systems. This increased mean time between failures and overhauling by 50 percent.
