I suggest a nice pre emissions Western star, KW, Volvo, Mack, Pete, with a cat or detroit. But thats a vague answer given on no information at all about the use, roads, loads, or anything else. Who knows without a lot more information from you OP.

If an automatic is what you want a Volvo D13 set at 455 or 500 with the I-shift will give the most reliable service and reasonable fuel economy.
The last fleet I worked for had a mix of Volvos and Freightliners mostly pulling super-b trailers through out western Canada and the northern States west of the Dakota's. We found the Volvos to average half a gallon better fuel economy and maintenance cost were 25 percent lower over the fleet.they are now buying 5 Volvos with two Freight liners this year.

 

Anyone here something about new international lt with Cummins engine the x15 efficiency series?

My dealer sold 90 International LT series to a local fleet and from what I have heard from the drivers and seen from our health reports that they are getting on average 7mpg pulling a mix of dry van and flat/step work. They have Cummins X15 Efficiency series, Eaton 10sp manuals w/overdrive, and 3.25 rear ends. Not many issues out of them other than the DEF tank module (QLS) failing. The International A26 engine isnt doing too bad either. Not seeing many in the shop and the ones that have come in are seeing 7mpg average as well. If you are considering an A26 i suggest a 2019 or newer model. Earlier models received a bad batch rocker arms. The bushings wear out fast on the rollers for the lifters. To make up for that though, International does give you a 7yr/unlimited miles and hours warranty for the valve train. Plus, having the A26 with an engine related issue makes you priority for the dealer because International will be calling constantly wanting updates. Sorry for writing a book to your response.
