You learned how to drive a truck from an "article"...and it was written by a guy that doesn't even drive for a living?

See, I wasn’t going to point that out for the audience. It makes the reading all the more funny.
I read an article on lasik eye surgery- you want to come thru for a quick ZAP bro? I know that stuff through and through, what with having read Dr. Schol’s article. Yup, I’m the man to listen to for advice when it comes to eye surgery.

I learned how to properly drive a truck through articles written by Bruce. He talked about proper use of a boost gauge, managing horsepower, focusing on momentum rather than speed, how to properly manage hills, all in pursuit of maximum fuel economy. I also read the stuff Henry Albert posts with Team RunSmart. Between those sources I went from just driving the truck to knowing how to operate it like a professional. At Knight you just learn how to move a truck down the road and not kill anybody, anyone that can fog a window can do that, with training.
I don’t drive for Knight anymore. Even if I did, what would it matter? I think if you look at the content of my posts in threads I have, beginning with my time at Knight to where I am now, running my own authority, you’d see I’m focused on fuel mileage and profits. My current truck, a 2018 International with their new A26, has gotten 8.9 mpg since February. I talk about it a lot in the thread on here specific to the A26.
I’ve been driving, solo, for four years as of the second week of November. I was a dispatcher for eight years before coming on the road. Having that experience has helped me a lot as well.uncleal13 Thanks this. -

That stuff seems basic to me too because I do it everyday. When you’re just starting out driving a truck it isn’t though. It was all new to me at the time and I’m glad I found the information. By listening to someone that has a lot more experience with heavy duty motors I learned how to get the most out of these trucks.
When I was at Knight your fuel bonus is tied to the year model of the truck. I was beating their top tier fuel bonus for my model by 6-7 tenths of a mile per gallon every quarter. I was asked by the terminal manager at Memphis if I was putting fuel in the truck because my numbers were high.
That truck had no gauges other than the basic stuff like air and oil pressure. I had bought a Scangauge, not the KR because I hadn’t heard of Rutherford until much later, and started driving by the boost gauge and practicing the tips I read from Bruce’s articles and the posts from Henry Albert. And their tips and advice work very well. -
The Pittsburgh Power box was one of, if not the WORST "tuner" that's ever been on the market. I have a couple friends that have had a horrible experience with Pittsburgh Power.
