And when that union stops representing us and agrees to bad deals?

What about when they start spending our dues supporting politicians/groups I disagree with?

Or when the union starts living the high life on our dues?

There are reasons that this industry has de-unionized.

I grew up in Chicago. Unions there were (are) a racket. To get a job, you have to join a union. To keep the job, you MUST support certain politicians (pick your party).

As to union leaders mispending dues:
Philly union leader pleads not guilty in embezzlement case

The West Virginia teachers pulled a wildkat strike a year ago. UPS workers soundly rejected a plan their leadership proposed. Union leaders are often out of step with rank and file.

I'm not saying unions are good, or that they are bad. Just that there are reasons why the trucking industry de-unionized.

Debatable. But you replaced the union mindset with a complete slave mentality of MILES MILES MILES! And then these DUMMIES are lobbying the government to loosen the HOS rules like 14 and 70 aren't enough...worry about your PAY. You all work PLENTY.

And I'm afraid all the miles miles miles dummies will convince the union to lossen the hos. Or do something equally as stupid like outlaw sleeper trucks and force companies to pay for hotel rooms. Or force me to pay into a bankrupt pension plan. Or, or, or.

    Lonesome Thanks this.
