Well BK2 and Boss Hoss and everyone else at ACT. I hope you r not offended by me starting my own thread. But I want to give yet another perspective and maybe add some advice for anyone considering this company. I will be completely honest in this thread calling it like I see it. With my fingers crossed here I go!! I have been running team for glen moore for some time and last thursday a msg came across the qualcom stating our company was bought out and welcome to the Celedon Family. I nearly fell out of the truck... They told me to go strait to indy for orientation. I went strait to indy but not for orientation but to turn in my truck. I was planning on coming to ACT after the first of the year but with the changes I called ACT recruiting and within an hour I was set to go. So here I am starting orientation in the morning.

The first bit of advise i could give anyone coming to orientation is DO NOT TAKE THE BUS!! OMG the worst experience ever. Rent a car, Fly, Ride a bicycle, anything but DONT TAKE THE BUS!!The Hotel is really nice wish i had packed my swim trunks the indoor
pool looks great. The buffet was good this morning when i got here i was starving. The lady at the front desk said she wasnt supposed to but she gave me a voucher for breakfast for this morning..So far so good..

Welcome aboard Tinman! The more the merrier, I wish that you would have read the first page of my thread, I said that the hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. You could always do like a guy from my class did, he took his oldest pair of pants and made himself a pair of shorts. I had no idea that Glen Moore was bought out by Celedon, they are trying to become a huge trucking company after just buying out FFE's sister companies. WOW. Again, welcome aboard!

Yeah.. It was a big shock. What really dissapointed me was the way they handled everything. If you dont play along you r gone no notice just go to indy turn in your truck immediatly. Thats alot to process with a moments notice and that told me all I need to know about them.
Anyhow.. starting with ACT today. I can see the potential to be succesful..

Day one was a breeze..Drug screen,Physical,Inspected our trucks and talked about basic orientation stuff.Everyone was really nice with the exception of the mechanics. I asked a few questions and they were very short with me acted as if i was bothering them which maybe i was. Like i said i'm gonna call it like i see it.. Overall i'm impressed with the rest of the staff so far. Very honest and strait foreward no sugar coating and i like that.

I think this forum is the best thing to happen to this industry since air-conditioning in the trucks. What an awesome tool we have to research companies and report things good or bad for the rest of the trucking community to see and evaluate for themselves.

curious what made you change your mind about "lease" from this post you had made?

"ooida has a great article on their website that gives you the questions you need to ask b4 sgning a lease purchase contract.. everyone considering should read it.. then just say no to lease purchase"

I still dont think a lease purchase is the best way to own a truck..People make decisions based on individual circumstance and those circumstances change from time to time..
