I see that statement about saying it to an officer's face a lot. It implies that the officer should have a chance to (illegally) use his badge, gun, and/or fists to prove how right he is. It only makes it look like whatever was said is fact.
I know a few good cops who are still on the job and a few more who have taken early retirement or left the force because their entire department had gotten so bad that they just couldn't stand to be around their fellow officers any more. This is a systemic problem that must be dragged into the light as often and relentlessly as possible until it is eliminated. As you noted, one bad cop makes all of them look bad. I don't like that either.

No, I apologize - I just meant that hiding behind a keyboard is chicken&*&$... and the person should be ashamed. Expounding, I have to take issue with the pathetic people who sling insults without ever facing the person(s) they're insulting.
-
Yeah, there's a lot of false bravado and loss of manners in this age.
-
I guess I'm just old fashioned.... more old fashioned than my age would dictate.

Ronin, I read in the book where a certain level of tint was permitted on the sides, and the back, black if you want it.
Safety man now tells me the rule has changed and no tint but factory is permitted. Got the skinny on Texas??? -
No rule changes... it just cannot be darker than 27% (meaning 73% of light has to get through), whether you have tint or not. Most factory tint is about 15-18%, so even if you go super light (35%), you add the 15% already there... for 50% light refraction.... which is a no go.
Even old school non-tinted glass, if tinted with the lightest stuff commercially available (35%)... you're at 65% refraction. -
-
Better get some tough film. Most tint is for inside and will get lots of tiny scratches on it if put outside. That would make the headlight glare in the mirror very bad.

that's hilarious I simply had a different opinion than you and you turned it into a pissing contest. But since you know everything about everything maybe you should try reading instead of skimming.
As for the officers on this forum, It doesn't seem to me that they fall into the good ol boy network as I stated that you obviously couldn't read because your ego got in the way of the light on your computer monitor. And your right you don't know me or anything about me but it if makes you feel better about yourself to set behind your keyboard and run your jaws it doesn't bother me one bit.
Your nothing more than a childish portrayal of what this industry has become. Enjoy your ego.Last edited: Aug 12, 2011

I didn't turn anything into a pissing contest. You were rude and a bully, and I called you on it, as I'm a grown man, not some 16 year old kid that you can boss around with tough talk.
My ego has nothing to do with you insulting every officer out there... in fact, ego doesn't come into play at all, since I wasn't personally offended.... it's just a weak argument on your part to make up for acting like a jerk.
Ironically, you indicate that I have an ego problem, when yours is larger than your "large car".Last edited: Aug 12, 2011
