I just watched a tip, courtesy of Ricks restoration on A&E. spraying battery terminals with HAIR SPRAY, protects then from corrosion. this should apply also to wires on starter & all other places where corrosion is likely to set in.

Is modern hair spray still flammable like back in the day?

    I'll tell y'all how I know cuz it's a funny story.

Went to see Ozzy and Motley Crue back in '84 or '85 with GF. Her hair was done up all big like they did back then. Tons of hair spray. So-o-o-o the pipe came around to her and she asked for a light and WHOOSH! up goes her hair in a fireball. It lasted only a second and it was only superficial but I felt bad cause I was the one holding the lighter. It cracked us up afterwards but kinda scary when it lit up.

But hair spray is'nt even water resistant.

Everyone will have their own favorite sealer protector. Here's mine. Its a Permatex product. I like that it dries on and does not make a mess like many sealers do.
