Any input on Kimball Trucking out of Jasper, IN? I'm going to Miami to The CDL School on a pre-hire drone Schneider but met a guy who drives for Kimball and loves it.

    Thanks!

True. When I see a bunch of new vehicles in a parking lot, all I see is debt.

Until last year, my personal vehicle was a 1998 Dodge with 250K on the clock, and I'm the owner of the company. I now have a 2015 Chevy that I paid cash for, partly from saving money driving the old Dodge all those years.

Not familiar with Kimball, but there's many good outfits that hire new grads in Indiana and some reimburse cdl school tuition. What do you prefer; refrigerated, van, flatbed, tanker?
Here's a few that hire new grads, but let us know what else you want:
Nick Strimbu Inc. - refrigerated division; Teamsters.
    Dynamic Transit - refirgerated
    Tyson Foods - refrigerated
    Schuster - refrigerated
    Freymiller - refrigerated
    Magnum Ltd. - refrigerated
Abilene Motor Express - dry van
    Sodrel Transportation - regional
All the above hire new grads. If website has "experience required" then website hasn't been updated.

Thanks so much for all the info. Does it really matter where you get your CDL? C1 Indianapolis isn't very far from me so I'm considering just going there.

Most companies don't care as long as the school is 160 hrs. which I think C-1 is.
C-1 pushes certain companies; some are ok, but others aren't. Don't let the school choose where you go to work.
If you like any companies I listed, call and ask if they hire from C-1; they all probably do.

I went there. It's a good place, but you're limited to working for one of the companies they partner with. If you jump ship within a certain period of time (like to pursue a better opportunity), the bill for the school increases. It's not like a regular school where you're free to work anywhere afterward. (However, their terms may have changed in the last 14 years.)
