Anchorage area. or Seward. Probably no one who will take a newb but come June, I might be able to have 3 months work experience under my belt. any ideas?

Visited AK years ago, 2012 to be exact, and got hooked on it and always wanted to go back to try and live there.

Do you have a CDL? What type of work are you looking for? I live in Fairbanks Alaska, and know lots of different companies up here that hire different experience level people. But I kind of need a little more information.
There are lots of people up here that hire people with no experience I didn't go to a school for my CDL I just went and took the test. My first job wasn't glamorous by any means, but they were willing to ride in the truck with me and teach me how to shift gears and not kill nobody, "you know the important things".

Thanks man. Have my CDL class A with endorsements NT. minimal experience so far - just three days behind the wheels of one of our condo's at my National Guard unit. Really am open to all kinds of potential work but would prefer mostly just driving or drop & hook. Ive been to AK quite a bit and know most of the major highways, problem areas & so forth, especially the Kenai.

You have the automatic transmission restriction? If so that's really going to limit you a lot. Alaska doesn't have nowhere near the amount of automatic transmission trucks as the lower 48.

Okay I hate to admit this in public but I will. After getting my CDL I couldn't find a job the only job that would hire me was working for a septic company, a really nasty job but you have to get some experience somewhere. I started out in a straight truck learn how to shift gears and back into driveways, then my first combination vehicle job was running sidedump. They were so desperate for people I was there one week when they had me hook up to a b train and maneuvered around the yard a few times then gave me LCV card sent me out on the highway with double side dumps even though I'd only been driving tractor trailer for less than a week. I thought it was pretty stupid on their part and I was nervous as s*** but I end up not killing nobody or hitting anything and it took off from there.

Okay sorry about that I didn't know what N meant.
I thought it was the auto restriction.
I just have T X on my license.

Well the people up here that are always looking for drivers will hire inexperienced people.
Here's the list off the top of my head.

    Septic companies.
    Span Alaska.
    Eagle Express lines hauling Mail.
Charlie's produce. These people are always desperate.
    Alaska waste.
    Sourdough Express.
Snow removal companies hauling hardpack and snow. Mostly end dump.

That's really all I can think of at the moment hope that helps good luck.
