What part of the tire was this piece of metal sticking into? Unless it was under the tire, where you could not see it until the tire rolled, you should have been able to spot it during your pre-trip.

I also don't understand how they fit a super-single on the steer wheel? Super-singles are for dual tire axles, like drives and tandems. They replace the need for 2 separate tires.

Super singles are used on steers to for trucks with 20,000pd front axles,as on water trucks, and most lowbed trucks, check it out next time you see one. But theres still more to his story thenhes telling.

Im thinking pre trip was never done, and thinking employer knows more then the op is telling, details say more then ones words when hidding something, again never seen a tire come off at low speed in ten feet, i been here awhile too.

I call bs also but I can't believe how many of you people don't pay attention. The op said he checked his super singles AND his steers nothing about ss's on the front. But still doesn't add up to me.

Its a shame when someone thinks they can fool those who live in this line of work, with maybe half ofwhat really happened, I think its time for the rest of the story to be told.
