I drove a Volvo with XZA3's on it and got 196k on the steers making multi stop loads, lots of tight backing. They started river wearing at the end. The Bridgestone 283 I have now is river wearing with 120k on them. I had Bridgestone m726EL that lasted 375k, and now I have some Goodyear 572's that have over 100k on them with 26/32 left. 100 psi on the drives, 105 on the steers.
Tire choice, are Michelins worth the extra cost?

I will add in though, In a year or so when these steers have lived their life, and I get new ones, it will not be Goodyear's no matter what, and I will get a set of Centrimatic's for them.

I'm highly irritated by your numbers..... try hauling heavy short loads....
Most guys get maybe 60-70K max on drives no matter the brand. And the fronts are no better....Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
@Jasonar15,
Those tires did well in all road conditions and got great fuel mileage. That said, either the GY572 or M726 or even the 770 will serve you well. All deep lug 30/32 and 32/32 tires. -
I think it takes a degree of luck to get huge wear numbers as well. There was a monster nail in one of my trailer tires when I shut down a few weeks ago.
How did that miss my steer or one of my drives?
If it hits a steer, unless you get REALLY lucky and find one that is of like depth, your gonna pretty much buy two new ones, cause if you buy one new one, you wanna talk about WTF whacked wear pattern.
I just think that's something to keep in mind when spending top digits for a tire you hope will last several years. -
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
