Q: Does the gauget hold on to the valve?
A: NO
Q: Can inflate and get reading at same time?
A: well, kinda. It does not react like a fuel island meter, where it "rolls" as you pump. You have to let go off the trigger, then the air in the tire will push back to give you an instant readout.
Q: can i replace Chuck on my glad hand hose and save time?
A: no. You get a hose with the "other hand" to create a connection. Similar to your trailer receptacle. And that hose gets connected to the gauge using the usual connectors.
Tire gauge that doesn't suck?

If you want to real fancy, you can tap into an existing airtank and add this. So all you do is hook up an air line to either tractor tank or trailer tank using these quick connects

This is the one I always carried under my bunk with gladhand adapter.

I've got a Mac tire gauge and inflator in one unit. It's survived 3 years in my service truck so far and it still works fine.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -
I have 2 50 foot hoses with Milton medium disconnects, and a female quick coupler attached to a glad hand, and male ends on air chuck, and other things I don't normally keep with me. Murphy's law has a corollary that you have every thing you need except for what breaks the next time.
The hoses would let me use truck air to blow out a box, or have plenty of reach.
The Milton guage can be recalibrated, I guess, but I just check mine with a known quantity, at the shop.BlackThought, Grubby and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Never thought about using the hose to blow out the trailer. Sucks sweeping
