Tire Pressure

    I don't know who blessedman is using for his tire shop, but it sounds pretty bad. I used a few, but now I plan for Allied Tire, Joplin, MO. Older, experienced core of guys, good prompt service, and a positive environment. I recommend their business to anyone needing tire service. I got a good 3 axle alignment there, also.

    I guess I need a better gauge. Mine has 5 psi increments. Being that 70 degrees is the calibration point unless it gets to 120 I don't need to worry about these adjustments. If it is 120 I am going to be worried about more than my tires.

    Get a $30 airline hose that connects to your redline. When you wake up. Check the tires since they're cooled off. Now add the pressure with the hose. The hose will last you minimum 3-4 years unless you bite it.

    Good advice, except don't buy the $30 air hose. Buy the fluorescent green air hose for $40. The cheaper hose is PVC, which will get stiff and crack in cold temperature. The fluorescent green hose will stay flexible well below zero.

    I will second this. I have a dozen of those green hoses and they are great. Most of them are in our shop but I bought one for the truck also. If you want to hook it to a glad hand you can buy the glad hand end cheaply. They are less than ten bucks.

    Truck stops sell the green hoses with glad hand. I've also seen the green hoses at Lowe's and Home Depot, but then you need to get the glad hand.

    I got a nice rubber one. Goes all the way to all the trailer tires. Have had it for 3 years. It's saved me a lot of tires and headaches just by a little extra work every time before I roll out. It's a great investment, and also use it for my cars too :)

    So little to back that up, it seems (and I've since seen a video from Michelin, who confirm that valve leaks are the most common cause of air loss on truck tires). Go ahead an share your knowledge, if it makes more sense. And why are you following me around... must have learned something. I learn something new every day (or use what I've learned, and this holds true, as do my tires). :biggrin_1square2:
