On the truck I have now came with endurance LHD on one axle and G572 on the other. They were about half wore when I got it and are wearing good.

Hankook has a research and development lab in Akron. I guess they were giving the finger to GY.

For awhile Hankook were oem on some tractors

You also need to look passed the cost of the tires themselves and see what effect they will have on fuel economy. If you put on cheap tires that cost you .25mpg @ 3.50gal/avg it cost you .02 more to run those tires that wasn't accounted for. Over a life span of 300,000mi is $6000 on top of the tire price. Are those tires still a great deal?

I have been running Yokohama 517(iirc) and 101zl steers for 2 or3yrs now with decent luck. The 101zl were about 80bucks a pair more than the 517's but I haven't found them to be any better. We run pretty hard in hot weather and always a little over 11k on steers and have never had any problems.

Our dept had a conversation with one of our district manager’s yesterday. He was telling us that the vp in charge of purchasing has told them that the price per shipping container has gone from $3,600 to $18,000. And went from 24-48 hr port turnover release to sitting up to 40 days before release.

2022 is going to be rough for tires a availiability and sales.

It is not just tires or ecm's. Sensors and even some filters. It seems that some vehicle mfrs. we're lax in ordering and alternate sources are not available. No drivers,no trucks. Will the storm in LA affect diesel supply?

It's been impossible for me to find a new truck. One Peterbilt dealer told me 8 months at the earliest. So we can't get a new truck, we can't fix our old ones. I think a serious problem is brewing.

GY tires often have funny wear patterns on steers. They do what is called riveting. I #####ed and they sent out a rep. He took a look and insisted it was alignment. Just had an alignment and showed him the printout. I cursed him and a month later switched to Bridgestone. Problem solved. G Y will never admit to a fault. So there is never warranty
