Im a 1st time o/o
This is my 1st set of tires I got to buy
i have 230,000mi on my Michelin drive tires they are 275/80/22.5 i plan to replace them this weekend
I got a real, real good deal on set virgin bridgestone 11r 22.5
About $1500 cheaper than the set Michelin I priced a local shop is trying to get local business
Is this a good tire or a good idea to change up tires I have the money saved for either set I hear people swear by bridgestone I been looking I see many people run bridgestone I didn't think to look at the size
I just bought 2 steer Michelin with 3 axel alignment that hit pocket pretty good
My current mpg is 7-9 average but I do get a 10 sometimes just depends on how hard I push
The shop just need to no which one I want so they can be there when I get home

Witch Michelin. And Bridgestone. Going from low profile to tall rubber will change speedometer and hurt fuel mpg
KB3MMX Thanks this. -

Both brands are top shelf.
$1500 is a lot of money but if you are getting that mileage I would not change tire sizes that change revolutions per mile. Stay with 275, 285 or 295's.
I will share two lessions learned on the same steer tires with about 40 new fleet trucks. The trucks were about one year old with about 100,000 miles on them. The steers were being pulled off many of them and warranty applied for. Warranty was denied.
Mr Tire Guru came to town, it was a big company, and I learned somethings. First was some of them had what looked like big section repair boots inside. He explained those were balance pads and these tires are factory seconds. Second was the DOT # shows the week of the year and the year the tires were made. The tires on those 1 year old trucks were 3 1/2 years old.clausland Thanks this. -
Bridgestone. 710 good tire. 726 bad tire stay with same size 275 85 22.5

Say a truck with 3.55 rears and low pro 22.5 tires will be about 1500 RPM at 69 mph (Roughly). The sweet spot for my motor is 1350 - 1450 RPM's. Anything more and it gets thirsty. CAT C15 Acert. So for me,.. 63 - 65 mph gives me the best MPG.
Switching to tall rubber I would be able to run 68 - 69 turning the same RPM's,.. increasing productivity with out hurting fuel mileage. I have 2 buddies who have gone from lo pro 22.5 to tall 24.5 and both experienced the same results. Not sure on older trucks,.. but mine the speedo can be reset in the ECM.
HurstVintage and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Silly boy tall rubber hurt rolling restarted loose fuel milage also faster speed kills fuel milage
