You mean I would actually have to get off my arse and go outside my house to see what’s available???
All it takes is a short little drive down your local US highway. You will see your mom and pop fuel stops and your smaller fleet yards. Contrary to what is believed online, the vast majority of trucking companies are not mega carriers but smaller fleets with their own customer base, who run local or regional and whose drivers are usually through the house a couple nights a week and home every weekend.

Might get some good job leads from drivers on here that live near you.
How much experience do you have and do you have endorsements? -

Try a mid sized carrier. You get the benefits of a mega such as new trucks and replacement trucks, drop and hooks, contracted freight, etc., without all the kindergarten BS.
Small companies and owner ops are hit or miss.2rescuekids, tarmadilo and bryan21384 Thank this. -

Smaller companies don't always mean better. I honestly think it's more pressure to run for smaller fleets than with a mega, or a small to medium sized company with mega capabilities. When you run for a smaller company, you'll have to really know what your doing. You may be asked to solve problems on your own, even to the point of wrenching on the truck yourself, as many owner ops are extremely cheap and lack adaptability. You'll be expected to watch their costs the same they watch their own costs. Don't think that you'll be able to fuel at the big truck stops non stop without getting a call lol. You may not be driving the most updated equipment on the highways. Many of these companies have fixer upper trucks on the road. I'm not necessarily trying to discourage drivers from going to smaller companies or working for an O/O. It's just that the big lie is that all problems are solved by working fornone of these outfits. Regardless of where you work, big or small, trucking is contingent on what the driver puts in it.
