Clutch pedal....thought that was where you hang your hat as you get in the truck! I don't see the need for name calling....just because you can't think of a name for yourself doesn't give you the right to call others names! Besides...with only one year experience....what would you have to compare with(?) certainly not any lengthy experience like TA Pete has!
Automatic : Hogan TransAm Howard Transportation Nussbaum Averitt Interstate Distributor I love automatics, all weather all terrain, kick back and let the auto do the down shifting & upshifting while you enjoy a nice cup of hot coffee. I drove a Volvo with auto pulling tanker liquid acid sloshing back & forth, coast-to-coast & border-to-border & Canada and it was wonderful. Snow, ice, mountains, heavy traffic, it was great.
Boys and girls, if you want it sugar coated, dont ask me. I tell it like it is. Wanting an automatic is the LAZY MANS WAY OF DRIVING!
The steering wheel holders on this forum disgust me, I'm logging off here, to many wanna be truck drivers.
He is learning to freaking drive.. He doesn't want to shift because he can't .. It isn't about being manly it is about knowing what in the H you are doing.. You may be able to drive a 20 axle platform with jeeps and stingers and all sorts of crap.. but he never will he is a lazy kid wanting an easy way out.. He needs to learn to drive a manual.. I have nothing against autos.. except for the fact the 4 I have owned (i didn't drive any of them I stuck with my 13) got horrible mpg.. like 4.5 to 5.5.. Took to shop sold himt he autos. put manuals in.. and started getting 6.5 to 7... OH and transam.. 15 years.. you never drove an old school 60's model chevy mack or pete.. that had no power steering.. You know back when the 5th wheel was on the trailer.. and you had to line up that way..
How can you tell it like it is when you don't how it isn't? Evidently (pure assumption on my part) but have you any experience with an auto?
You know transams experience how(?)...by the 15 years(?)....I've been driving for a living for 18 years, but before that I drove a 3 stick brownie (on the ranch for hay hauling), also have been under 9/10/Super10/13/15/ 15 under/18 gear trannies and auto's....what does that prove except I can compare the different trannies without presuming to know by a bunch of coffee counter drivers telling me what to think.
One year and already a seasoned veteran! You know what they say about rookies....they know it all, just ask them!
