Welp, I guess I've had my fill with pointing out the short commings of the typical cb op.
As 'ole foghorn leghorn used to say...."he's about as sharp as the dull end of nothing sharpened"

    Bwwwaaaaahahahahaa!

In nearly 40 years of truckin', I've never heard about ANY driver being busted for an illegal radio...Now admittedly I'm not one of those guys that hangs on every word of the laws pertaining to the use of something as silly as a freakin' radio!

Odds are this illegal station was a base station. (If the story is even true)
    *********************************************************
Here again...I would have to care!

Oh no! Ham express a disdain for CB operators????? Whatever are we to do now?

I woudn't call it a quarrel so much...It's more like, Us laughing at you in your "Official Ham Radio Operator" hat and matching glasses with the tape over the bridge of your nose and a pocket protector driving around in your 1974 Toyota Corrola with 32 antennas hangin' all over it lookin' for truckers with illegal radios to turn in...

Not me....I get treated with respect all the time.

I have never called a cop in my life...Nor will I ever.

    No...They won't!

Because they honestly couldn't care less about a bunch'a radio nerds.

More than zero? Probably not by much.

Oh my...$10,000 dollars? That's a lot of money there housefly...I was wondring how long it would take you to get to the famous $10,000 fine that you always hear the radio nerds yakkin' about but it NEVER actually happens to anyone!

Oh no! The public holds CB radio operators in disdain tooooooooooo????

    I simply can't go on!

    NEWS FLASH!!!!

Nobody cares...The "public" doesn't even know that CB exists for the most part and they really don't care much about Hams either.

Have a nice day now housefly..I'm gonna go drive my truck and yap on my "Big Reddio" and hopefully at some point during my busy day I'll irritate a Ham or two!:biggrin_2559::biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:

But the argument goes on and on with no end in sight.

And you have been around how long?

You think the people using a $500.00 cb radio to piss people off are clowns but when guys with $15.000 or more in ham equipment do the same thing then thats ok? If you think that hams do everything by the book then your either clueless or blind!

It's clear that you hear just as much #### on those frequencies as you do on 11 meters and when the conditons are right you hear it from all over the country! But as long as it's hams doing it and not CB'ers it's ok right, please!

You make my point for me. As long as you or anyone else has that ticket in their hand then that allowes you to break any and every rule set by the FCC,and that little ticket makes everything OK. But let some old stupid CB'er do the same thing your ready to hang em.

It a #### shame what the Amateur radio has turned into. A bunch of know it all whining little kids with to much time on their hands.........who miss the hole point of Amateur radio and are ####### it up for everyone else by causing people that may be thinking of getting into Amateur radio,to veiw in a negitive way!

CW morse is the perfect example of what mindsets the vast majority of hams have today. I call him out and he does the same crap, does not even try to hid it. He does not care about anything but making himself feel better about being such an empty little man no matter how many people he has to piss off along the way! He is the same way on a great many other forums and is the same on the radio to others in his home town.

If the mods want to clean up this forum then ######## Like CWmorse ( Gladfly ) and this peace62 fool should be the first to go along with anyone else that only comes here to give the rest of us a hard time!

The only thing they are here to do is piss people off and i think thats more than enough reason for them to get a boot in their ###!

Well I guess I should have said Ham frequencies but since I use a radio that has them in channels I'm sorry if I've offended. Don't worry, I won't be using them, I've neither an inclination or reason to be anywhere below 26.965 or above 27.405. You sound like a very nice person WA4GCH, as does Gadfly and I'd probably love discussing radio with folks as knowledgeable as you two. I'm sure you could teach me a lot. However, as I also said the radio is a tool for me, I have no hobby interest in it. I probably will lack accepted nomenclature at times when discussing it. What I DO want is one that performs as well as I can afford for what I want to do. I read reviews, comments about how to make antenna systems to work to the optimum efficiency and anything else that will make my radio perform as well as it can. I'm no ratchet jaw but when I do need information or am able to give the same I like to be heard. That is the extent of my aspirations. I do have hobbies, one being building computers, another playing MMORPG's, and I like doing things outdoors with my family. I just get a little peeved when some hams want to denigrate the intelligence of truckers with snide little comments. If some do get on your frequencies and offend then I think you're right in pursuing regress. A lot of this I suspect may happen by accident though. Most truckers I know are not dumb hillbillies that couldn't get a job anywhere else. We handle loads that are worth sometimes in the hundreds of thousand dollars if not millions. That's lot of responsibility that companies don't entrust to just anyone. I don't mean to make a rant, just somewhat further explain myself.
