I thought I was missing something since " CHANNELS " is used on FM I thought you might be using that term ... HUMMM what is MMORPG's ?

My wife is one good game player ( Morrowind DOOM DIABLO ECT )
I built her computer this last year and every computer we have ever had back past the days of our VIC-20 ( XT, AT, 286, 386, 486 Pent 1,2,3 and 4 and now dual cores ) I still have a COMMODORE 64 and IT still works.

LOL, I started with a Commadore 64 and I believe I still have in it the basement somewhere. Diablo was one of the first Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG), I've played a ton of them since then. I get bored with them after a while and move on to the next and greatest. You've probably heard of Ultima Online, Everquest, and World of Warcraft, those are pretty well known. There are tons of free ones now that require no monthly subscription costs and I now play them when I have free time until I get bored and move on to the next one. I just built a pretty nice media computer that allows anyone in the home network to stream videos, dvds, music, whatever to the 52" LCD TV with the good sound system in the entertainment room. That's the kind of stuff I like to do. Your wife sounds like she likes the same kind of things I do, I hope you put up with her as well as my wife does with me. Us gamers need a little understanding :biggrin_255:

peace62, you do understand you're not exactly helping your cause. You are stereotyping all CB users as alike while trying to boost the goods of ham radio...which when you proceed to bash others as you have already done, you have just made yourself look worse. Now you've made anyone who is thinking of becoming a ham take a 2nd thought.

Truth is not everyone on the CB thinks they're a radio rambo and not everyone thinks they're entitled to be an annoyance on other bands. Just like not all ham operators are nerds.

Oh yeah here's something to chew on....some hams actually enjoy pissing off people on the radio...sort of like all the CBer's you portray.

Only because it's fun to poke at the radio nerds...:biggrin_2559:[/QUOTE]
    **********************************************************

Well, this is getting out of hand and it will not be solved--only argued about ad infinitum. I'm sorry you guys feel so towards Doctors and Lawyers, and airplane pilots (of which I have been licensed, too). Some of my best friends ARE doctors, lawyers and pilots--many of whom happen to be hams. Next time you need medical or dental care-----go see a TRUCKER!!! LMAO! :biggrin_2559:

As to the veracity of the FCC hits, tell ya what. You DOUBT what I say so much, why not get it from the horse's mouth?:biggrin_25525: Call 1-717-338-2577!!! THAT'S the FCC Counsel for Amateur Enforcement who also has something to do with CB enforcement since SHE signed many of the letters:biggrin_255: TO and AGAINST many CB operators. ASK her if anybody has actually received a $10,000 fine! They sure are on the 'web published at FCC's website, that of ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League), and other sites!!! THEY ARE THERE!!!!!!! Her name? Laura Smith. Long-term FCC employee, recently assigned to the Counsel post after the retirement of the past holder of the title. Ask HER if there's any CB enforcement, or if I'm just blowing smoke (to use a CB phrase). Don't believe ME--ask HER--the lady that has SIGNED the letters!!! WHAT more could you ask for

It's Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. Ms. Smith is in the office RIGHT NOW:biggrin_2556:! So go ahead----CALL her! WHAT? YOU "SKEERED"? :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: C'mon, now! Don't afraid to learn the TRUTH! She won't BITE you (unless you've got one of those illegal, so-called "10 Meter" radios) Whaddya say? :biggrin_255:

My purpose here is to warn people away from 10 Meters. I sometimes even help people solve technical issues (so long its not something illegal like linear amps or "extra" channels). If I keep someone from going onto 10 or 12 Meters without the license, then I have accomplished my aim.

Housefly...You are too funny! All of this tripe that you type would matter if ANYONE cared outside of the radio nerd closet...But no one does!

I've been runnin' illegal radios for 40 years and have never even seen a representitive of the FCC much less been fined or recieved the dreaded "letter".

I know that you hate to hear it but the fact is...The FCC is and always has been a toothless tiger regarding CB radio and for every supposed $10,000 fine there are probably about 10,000,000 scofflaws that get away with it forever.

Skeered as you think we are...I'll continue to take my chances laughing the whole time at those of you who take it so seriously!
