He's just using you as his little puppet now. Did you mention to the company anything at all about not taking a shower for a week? Like what was mentioned above you gotta stand up.

Do you have enough money to get you from NY to your home if things hit the fan with this guy and he boots you out of his truck because he thinks your racist?

Nah I thought I would just persevere through this instead of making a big fuss over this, even though I would say something if somebody actually cared to hear what I had to say

I’m grateful that I get another chance either way though, finally a chance to show what I can do all on my own; I’m a bit too slow for his liking and that’s why I haven’t done this completely by myself (primarily throw the straps because I need to practice more and then using bungees to hold the tarp down) but I’ve been getting on top with the tarp and everything else

So are they even paying you mileage pay or do they just use their trainers as rotating teams with students so they can maximize the money they are making?

My trainer said I get paid by the mile, but the recruiter I talked to said I make $400 a month and that’s correct after I get about $100 taken out in taxes

In comparison, I started driving 5 years ago and was with a trainer for 3 weeks getting paid 500 a week flatbedding and we didn't team. I was the only one driving for 3 weeks. Then when this was over I got a truck and was paid 47cpm for 6 months, after that I was paid 54cpm +1cpm per year. We've had pay raises since as well.

For all the miles you and your trainer have driven, probably 20000 a month, you get 400 dollars or 2cpm.

    2cpm! FOR REAL?

And they want to fire you while training? I don't think so but maybe they have some more waiting in a line willing to get bent over for a month.

As long as you're able to sleep with yourself at night I think taking the high road is a wise decision. No reason to bring down your vibe dealing with some jerkoff.

Welcome to Ex-con express. They treat their drivers like ####, pay them nothing and expect the world in return, just to drive a semi.

Imagine driving an hour knowing that you are going to get paid about 1 USD for that hour! Unbelievable.

No wonder there are truck driver beggars at the truck stops. They don't get tips, not even a reach around.
