All right, a quick shout out to @Chinatown for his recommendation on a number of carriers. He manages to catch up to me, and pass on his wisdom, and I just wanted to say thank you!

Next, I am somewhat humbled by the transportation industry. It has been many years since I drove a Mack for a small LTL company. Time has passed me up, and the industry has become so evolved so to speak. I worked to keep my love for driving alive by pulling for a high school band, and now after nine short years, this gig is ending. I can already feel the pull to come back and drive professionally. So I have been pinging a number of the companies that Chinatown recommended... many never returned my emails or calls. The ones that did said that I needed to get more experience first... again humbled, as I figured a class A holder of 22-years would get some respect... but alas, I nothing but a new driver when it comes to over the road.

So I need some refresher training, and a 2nd attempt email to Titan Transfer may have set things in motion. They have a terminal Cornersville, TN, about 30-miles from my house, and with a little luck my wife and I will get a tour on Black Friday. At the very least, we will make the short trip to the Shelbyville main office and talk to a recruiter there. I plan to talk at length with them tomorrow by phone, and hope that all goes well.

Hopefully I will have some great positive updates, as it begins!

    Chinatown Thanks this.

That's sad a bad incident or something or just a long spell of not driving?

Except for working the band these past nine years, I have not been driving professionally since 2000. My dad, being the mentor he is, convinced me that I needed to go back to school. I did and took a desk job, where I have nested for 16 long years. But I managed to protect my class A (cheaper to keep her/it). Nothing bad at all, just a long dry spell.

I must say, Abilene looks quite nice. Minimal research thus far has turned up a couple positive threads on the company.

No further contact with Titan yet... but it is early on a holiday week.

Their Cornersville yard is the same exit (22) off I-65 as the Pilot, Tennessean truck stops & the girlie bar.

Try Millis again, I had a similar situation quit driving in 94 after 11yrs. went back to being a carpenter for the next 17 yrs. then in 08-9 the bottom fell out on construction. anyways went to millis to regain my cdl that I let go, didn't think I'd ever drive again.
Stayed about 18 mo. at millis, and moved on to tankers. Millis is not that bad
