I was talking to Peterbilt's F&I guy today.
He told me that many of their California customers title their new rigs in OK instead of CA....
The rigs are still IRPed with CA plates.....
Is there a tax advantage to doing this?

Or ask your wife,...... -
Are you sure you can title in one state and register in another? What does the F&I guy say?

My truck is titled in OK and proated out of IL. OK has no sales tax excise tax or other tax on trucks and trailers. But I do live in OK. Few years back several went to jail over selling OK prorate tags and the state had to give IL 35 million.
You live in CA you get to pay for the privilege. But doesn't that west coast freight pay more? -
Some loads yes.....but there's taped lumber for $1.10/m that the NAFTA drivers just love....
