I bought a trailer from an individual in Canada. Trailer was registered in bc. Tried to title/tag trailer in Maine. They require the original registration from bc. Well bc no longer supplies the owner a registration card as they did in the past, it is just a document that is emailed to owner that they print out. Maine is not accepting this printed out document. Anyone know what to do in this case?

Are you a Maine resident?
If so, go through the process of getting a new title as a titleless trailer.
If not register it in your own state.
The worst that you have to deal with is going through a title service.Accidental Trucker and tlalokay Thank this. -
I live in NC. Haven’t taken docs to dmv yet but worried they aren’t going to accept the copy of registration either

I used a dealer familiar with the process to handle the paperwork. It probably cost me more, but the result was less headaches.
Good luckAccidental Trucker Thanks this. -

The dealer I worked with in 2016 is no longer in business.
The company they worked with in Canada is:
Transit Trailer Limited,
22217 Bloomfield Road, RR#3
Chatham, ON. N7M 5J3
What brand is the trailer? If it was made in Canada the factory might help you get the proper paperwork.
When I owned my Manac the factory was very helpful helping me get parts.
Hope it helps. Good Luck -
I'm afraid I am no help as to where I got that statement since my cousin in BC had an acquaintance that did the leg work.
If I had to do it again, I'd probably just pay the import service to do it. It would save on blood pressure meds.
