I will start orientation with TMC April 18th. Anyone going to be there for orientation then too? Or already there in Orientation? Or perhaps anyone coming through there during the next 2 weeks?

So the first day of orientation is in the books. Nothing special happening today. Just lots of "paperwork" which is done on computers now. Got the DOt physical and drug screen outa the way. A couple people already on their way home as they couldn't pass the physical. We did the tarp test by showing we could pickup a tarp and move it around the trailer. Also had to climb up the ladder and hang ten toes off the side of the conex to show your not afraid of heights.
Other than that, nothing real interesting today.
Tomorrow brings on more paperwork and starting the simulators.
    See yall tomorrow

    Colorato and Gears Thank this.

The physical isn't nothing really. Height, weight, vision and hearing. The dr listens to you breath. They check you blood pressure and heart rate. Yes the dr cups the balls if that's what anyones worried about. haha and that's it. 2 people was sent home the first day for hernias, so if you have one they will find it. Lol

The 2nd day in done. Getting started on the 3rd day now.
I find the orientation and instructors not as bad as all the previous posts. Day 2 we finished up some tests on the computer and in the evening we got.into the truck simulators. The sims suck! Didn't like it much. Other than getting a feel for shifting the "H pattern" (which you should already know)the sim sucked. The later we got in the truck for straight line backing and shifting. The 13 speed if your not used to it will start to.get to your head a little. You can help but think about it then you start over thinking it. And yes I started over thinking it too. Lol but it was the first time. After our hour session I got the hang of it pretty good. Now I just can't wait to get in the truck and get on the road for some real shifting.
Heading to the training center to start the 3rd day now. Not sure what is to come today. Will update this evening. Out

    Gears Thanks this.

Well another day down. Was a slow day but it sure did feel really long. Not much happening today, just a couple more tests. Did the driver performance and the driver logs test today. The driver logs test is a timed test but nothing to worry about. Some guys did really horrible on it but I didn't find it to be that big a deal. I had plenty time left when I finished and only missed 4 outa I think 64. Anyway
Had another guy leave out this morning (his wife called lol) and another guy left out this evening, had some stuff he had to go take care of. My prediction is at least 6 more gone by Sunday. We'll see though.
Tomorrow is the last day of in-the-classroom orientation so George says he's gonna have us doing some trip planning and map practice. Don't know whats on the agenda after that. Ohh well we'll see.
    See ya'll tomorrow.
    Out

Well day 4 and 5 is done. Didn't bother to update yesterday.
DON'T lie on your app. Don't know why people think their gonna get away with it. A guy got sent home yesterday (day 4) because they caught him lying on his application. So he went through 4 days of training for nothing. And don't forget - TMC will pay for a greyhound ticket to get you here but you get sent home for ANYTHING and you're on your own to get home. Byebye see ya don't come back liar! lol just the way it is.
Everything I had read on these forums BEFORE i got here seemed like this place was going to be absolutely HORRIBLE - like their just looking for a reason to ####can you. Now that I'm actually here its totally opposite. Sure you lie on an app and your gone. Yesterday some terd couldn't get the hood to close all the way so he was on top of the hood bouncing trying to get it to close...he bent up the fender...needless to say he's no longer here. lol Serious stuff their not going to tolerate so don't do anything STUPID and its not a bad gig. As for today, not much really to talk about today. Started load securement. Today was kind of boring, but its supposed to get better tomorrow.
