Hello my name is Remington. I am 22.I grew up in the trucking world. Grandfather drove and my dad still drives. I'm about to start cdl school and am looking at all these companies.
Id like to do flatbed but don't have a problem with dry van.
I'm looking at TMC, Maverick, Melton, and Smith Transport.
I'd like to be home every weekend but if not def every other weekend.
Can you give me your input on these companies?
Thank you drivers. Stay safe out there.
TMC Maverick Melton or Smith

I grew up in a parking lot. I wouldn't mind haulin cars either but a lot of the companies want otr experience first.
-
All good companies.
Check out the subforums here dedicated to those companies. -
Yea I read a lot about all of em. Heard good and bad. Also I got one ticket two weeks ago. A speeding ticket. First one I've ever had. I have no criminal record. I am going to take a driver improvment class to try and get it dismissed in court. Will this effect me at all?

How many mph over?

Make sure you pay attention to companies minimum hiring age. Many companies are 23.
-
I've never heard a good word from any Smith drivers.
-
I was goin 13 over. I talked to tmc before I got my ticket and they said because of my perfect record they would work with my age. So now I'm not sure if that will still happen.

Try melton they are a good flatbed company and the min age is 21.

I worked for TMC for 1.5 years before i bought my own truck. Id highly recommend them. The pay is great. Home time is 48 out of 52 week-ends. You can even become a trainer and make even more. My first year i made 64k. Not bad at all. Decent equipment. Great load securment training and equipment. When drivers a shiper don't know how to secure a load, they ask TMC drivers. Feel free ti pm me if ya want more info. Only reason I quit is because i got my own truck and wanted to switch to vans. TMC payed me so much, i didn't even finance my truck. Paid Cash. (not real cash, but 100% saving from work at tmc)
