I know that I have posted asking for opinions on what dryvan/refrigerated company to go with, but wanted to know opinions on which of these flatbed companies would be good to go with. Which of these companies would get me the best hometime, pay, benefits, and equipment? I'm trying to slim my list of carriers down to the best ones so I can make a better decision when I graduate from trucking school.
TMC, Melton, or Boyd?

Melton has the best driver & family healthcare package.
Melton & TMC both have good paychecks.
Maverick has a weekends at home program and decent paychecks.
What's you location? -
I'll be in Oklahoma after getting out of the Army.
-
Melton is headquartered in Tulsa. That in itself doesn't mean more hometime. Hometime is a company policy set by each company.

i haven't heard of boyd. out of tmc or melton, i would go with melton. they both came to central tech when i was there and did their recruiting gig. heres a little info.
melton: 45-48k. orientation is in tulsa, 4 days. they drive kenworth t600s. you are out 14 days, home 2. .33/mile and average 2500 miles/week.
tmc: all i wrote down was .35/mile. training is 2 weeks @ $400/wk.
they both have some nice trucks

I am leaning towards Melton as TMC seems to me trying to hide things by having the nice shiny Peterbilts. Boyd's not really in the area I'll be living in, and I know that greatly affects hometime. How long are you out with a trainer at Melton?
-
not sure. didn't write it down.
-
Send a PM to Noggin. He's been with Melton a while.

thanks, I'll send him a PM.
