Hey crew,
Just a question about the orientation tarping and getting on the flatbed. I've been browsing their load securement website and it just says lifting the tarp and setting onto flatbed. But, for climbing on to trailer it says from rear. I've seen posts about climbing on to trailer, but they say from the side of trailer? That doesn't make sense because that doesn't seem safe to me.
I'm a fairly tall guy, so that is not my concern, I just want to be prepared for when I leave in a few weeks for orientation.

I believe they have you climb onto the trailer from the rear and the side. You will pickup and carry the tarp to the trailer, put the tarp on the trailer and then get on top of the trailer, pick it back up and put it on top of a coil.
When you climb onto the side of they trailer, they have you raise yourself using your arms then get on your stomach and roll your legs around. I believe thats how they teach it anyway. Its been to long since I've been through it and I also was part of the experienced class so we didn't cover much, maybe a half a day of securement training. -
Thanks for the info!

They will show you how o climb on from side and rear. Rear is safer, but sometimes the load dictates how you climb on. Climbing on from rear is easier. Dont worry about knowing how to do it. TMC has a physical therapist show the "correct" way and that is the method you will need to demonstrait. What you find ont he net may or may not be TMC's way.
