Tmc pay

Are you a company driver? If pay rate per mile is based on number of years experience, how many years credit do you have? Do you get paid per mile when empty or bobtail?

 

I'm a company driver w/ 3 months OTR experience and make 32% (now 33%) of the trucks revenue.

Who is your FM, Farva?

 

Can a person work at TMC and be home weekends and make a living and be respected by the company ? In other words asking to be home weekends makes you a target to get worst loads worst routes etc ? Thanks

 

From my experience, I found that weekend hometime was not a problem, but you will get home late Friday and generally leave out by noon on Sunday, in most cases, so you can be parked at the consignee by 9 pm for your Monday morning delivery. Respect from the company under such circumstances was never an issue, however the pay for running in such a way was nothing to write home about (Lotta'work and hours, little reward type of thing)... Also, living in eastern Iowa, and coming on board with twenty-three years flatbed experience proved to be of no advantage.

 

I live fairly close to TMC in Des Moines, what would be best option to gain home time, dont care if it is weekend or weekday, thanks!

 

I would say Saturday and Sunday sine ninety percent of flatbed operations run Mon-Fri... They will tell you the same thing.
