Loooking at TMC and the main thing that caught my attention the 2nd time I called them was that its up to me if i want cpm or % of the load. Im pretty sick of gambling for miles and ive had awesome hourly and flat rate gigs before. How does it work best for you guys?

It's a crap shoot. Driver pay is highly dependant on if you are willing to let the company dictate how you run. They micromanage like no other. They want you parked up as close to the reciever as possible, if not right at the receiver, they want you to leave out on Sunday to get parked up, with dispatchers it's a popularity game with most. They swear they don't play favorites, but if you read my tmc experiance thread, you'll see where I caught my dispatcher lying you me about available loads. Overall if you work hard, and are willing to be micromanaged, you can average 1000 to 1300 a week .

If you plan on being home most weekends, you will be running the shorter hauls and staying close to home. Therefore your best bet is percentage most of the time especially as rates are on an upward trend.

IMO only work for % if YOU have access to the rate sheet.

The way it works at tmc is tmc logistics gets the loads, tmc transportation technically lease tyre trucks to tmc logistics. Logistics takes a 25% cut right off the top, what's left is the "truck rate". This is how it was explained to me after I left as I kept in touch with my driver manager. He explained it this way to me after he quit to go work for system sevenLepton1 Thanks this. -
