TMC does not have a CDL program. You have to go to a driving school and get your CDL on your own. TMC does have a Tuition reimbursment program that pays you your tuition fees at a rate of $100 a month. I spent $4000 on school. It will take me 40 months to get it all back but its better than not getting my Tuition back at all. After you get approved to attend TMC's Orientation you will go to the Main Terminal in Des Moines, IA. TMC owns a Baymont Inn that you will stay in during the 12 day orientation.

Its a solid 2 weeks for orientation (unless you get sent home sooner) and then 5 weeks out with a trainer where you may or may not get home on the weekends, kinda how the job is normally. You might have to wait for a trainer for a week or so at home or you might go right out from the terminal with a trainer after orientation.

And indyboy you probably already know this but I will just throw it out there for you. Up in NW indy is a good area to live in because there are loads that go out of there a lot. Also its right along a huge intersection of highways. Good spot to be

Oh ok I dont wanna do that...Anyone here from TMC know if there are any trainers in the northwest indiana area? just wondering i called someone i met on here from maverick that lives nearby and he told me no trainers in this area...No big deal if not just like to know what to expect before it happens in case TMC is the company that hires me..Thanks in advance for responses.

You have to drive to wherever the closest trainer is. When I was there I had to drive from South Jersey to Virgina (right near DC) because he was the closest available. It sucked because when we came home for the weekend I still had to drive 3-4 hours home so it cut short my weekends. He would help out though by driving the truck when we were homeward bound and then first starting out. There was a trainer who lived 20 minutes from me but he already was in with a trainee.

They use to say if the trainer lived over 150 miles from you they spring for a hotel for the weekend for you. They calculated mine at 143 miles therefore I didn't qualify, not that I wanted to spend my weekends at a hotel anyhow. They also covered gas and tolls.
