Thanks Strn! I got the message and I'm thinking of trying CR England or Schneider for OTR. Could not send you a message because I haven't had 50 posts.

My new job is pulling a dry powder tanker, only took a day to get the hang of the lines, pressures and valves. You definitely do have to keep a constant eye on it though.

Do people read anything on here about CRE? How can you still consider going to them if you do?

    notarps4me and GrimmReaper451 Thank this.

Thanks guys! I'm staying far away from all the main name companies. Raider Express is here in Fort Worth so I'm going to check them out.

Raider was getting great reviews last yr. Have been a few negative lately, but that is about the same for all. If you get a chance talk to some of their drivers. Know they run up 287 a lot to Greeley/denver area.

I'm an experienced driver thinking of going to TMC, I'm qualified so next step is orientation, if I choose them, that is.
A few questions I have if anyone could please answer:

After orientation do you get a choice of what kind of truck you want or do you take what you get and thats that?
I'd like to get a 379 w/ the 70" bunk (the bunk with the windows), what are the chances I'd get assigned one of them?

I'm wanting to get back into specialized hauling, I know they have a Specialized Division, is the waiting list long for that?
    Is the pay any better?

Does TMC ever get out to the west coast or do they really stay east of the Rockies as the recruiter said?

You get what ever truck they have ready. I go west every so often, its available. I think its easier to get on specialized if you live close to des moines. But I have never looked into. They were a good company always treated me fair but things you should know. They are cutting the trucks back to 62 mph. They no longer have ez pass or pre pass. They are now waiting to 40 thousand miles to service there trucks and they are getting old my last trainee was issued a truck with 500 thousand on it. Regardless I am staying busy but ready to find something else feel free to ask anymore questions. I use to love and was proud to work for tmc but they are killing all the reasons why people come here. But I'm not angry like most and will answer all questions honestly
