Sounds like your husband needs to realize that his CDL is his families bread and butter, no offense intended but that was Stupid. All it took on his part was a phone call to Safety , Todd if possible because I guarantee someone in road repair will feel the Wrath. Been with TMC over 4 years and this would not be tolerated they value the safety rating more than anything. Good luck with your new endeavors.

 

I'm a female and Im thinking about attending TMC after graduation for my CDL! I know about flatbed due to the fact I was an 88M in the military and hauled supplies and Tanks while in Iraq! What I would like to know is how long is the training, how much do you get paid during training, how much you get paid solo, how many days you work and how many days off, & how long is your contract! From reading alot of forms there seems to be the good the bad and the ugly to trucking! Please need real honesty and not BS, I don't mind working Im just looking for a quality company to work for and bring my experience to. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Training/Orientation is 2 weeks, including Saturday & Sunday. Then you're out with a trainer in a truck for 5-6 wks.

As of right now, it looks like I can forget about TMC. I called today during our lunch break at school to check on my application. I was told that it was denied. I asked why, and confirmed that they recruited from the school I'm going to. I was told there was no reason given, and yes they do recruit from the school. Talk about letting the wind out of my sails. It felt like someone drop-kicked me. He did say that he would run my app through again, and requested the school fax a copy of my DOT physical.

I've had TMC set as a goal. I've been doing regular exercise, like walking 1-3 miles everyday, doing crunches, strength exercises, daily, because I know getting through their orientation was going to be tough. I'd feel better if I failed during the orientation.

My driving record has 1 accident, that occurred 3 yrs ago. A deer ran into the side of my pick-up that I had just purchased 2 weeks earlier. I've been involved in one other accident about 25 yrs ago, where some old blue-haired granny came across 2 lanes of traffic and took out the entire left side of my car.

Traffic tickets, NONE!! Criminal History--NONE, Don't drink, dang sure don't do drugs. Injuries, I wrenched my back about 3 yrs ago. I was pitched around inside a Cat 615 scrapper like a rag doll, because the seatbelt was broke in the thing. Typical construction company maintenance. Finished the day, but had to see a chiropractor to get it somewhat back to normal.

I just don't understand, try to do things legal and right, and your the evil one!! What a messed up society we are. Totally upside down. Well I guess TMC can K.M.A.
