    Readytogo,

You and your husband's love for each other is indeed admirable, but you have to understand something. Passengers are a definite distraction for a new driver, whether they're a spouse or not.

Now, if you had plans of getting your license so you and him could run as a team, that's something else, and that's fine.

Granted, some responses here to you may have been a little extreme, and to the rest of you, enough has been said on this subject and you all have made your points. But again, you need to realize that all trucking companies are going to have strict rules on passengers, and some don't even allow them at all.

Best of luck to you both.

Thank you for the best of luck thing. i agree enough has been said to me just because i and my husband want to be together. And i have said enough defending myself. As far as what you said .. of course i know some don't even allow it, I've talked to about 50 in the last 2 weeks. I've said i understand this over and over but no one is reading that part.

to the rest of you, i said i was not defending my right to ride with my husband anymore. but apparently you still have not read my post correctly. I never said he worked for TMC, i said they wanted to hire him. and in that long thread that i had to break down piece by piece, the only thing i said about TMC personally was the way the office women was rude. the rest was about talking with someone else that recruited for 8 companies and the email she sent. i just passed that information on, at the same time i SAID it was from someone else, NOT TMC. but you just can't understand that????? everyone is defending TMC for what this recruiter that work's for 8 different companies said, and TMC was not one of them?????

I do want to correct the man who said TMC didn't allow rider's for a year or 6 months. well its 3 months. i also have said that many times on this board. TMC's recruiter said I COULD GO TO ORIENTATION WITH HIM, and he was working on the 3 month deal. The women he spoke with that was so rude had no idea what he had already worked out with the recruiter.

" i would never expect a company to accommodate that during TRAINING"
said ECKZ, I've never said one time i should be with him during training so everyone stop saying that i did. show me where i said this??? you can't cause i didn't! and I'm glad you like TMC but we don't.

    {and then there is so much other stuff that everyone is accusing me of saying that i never did, someone just isn't reading properly. I'm not even going to quote them anymore as I'm tired of repeating myself just because most are not reading my words correctly!}

and no he didn't go to work for them, it was because the women was so rude that he told her to tear up his application. why does anyone care that my husband did not want to go with TMC? I was the one that told him i was dismissing all the neg. stuff on this board and lets go ahead and go for it, this is when he called the office and was talked to like a dog. and that is it! all in a nut shell! and yes i have said many times that after a year i was going to get my cdl's. I have some health issues right now that are keeping me for doing it now. then some WONDERFUL person on this board got in contact with me and gave me info on his company. this is the one i talked about my husband signing with. we are both so glad we found a company that was family orientated. i spoke with the recruiter first and when i asked if there was a problem with riding once he finished orientation and flatbed training and he said "of course not" I asked how much they would charge and he said nothing, we are a family company and believe in keeping family together. i can still go to orientation with him if i want, its only 2 days and i would just be in the hotel room till night when he was done, or go shopping as i know this City they have a wonderful mall. and we would just simply sleep together, and I'm not being nasty either, not doing it for any other reason than to have my husband to hold me while i slept and vice versa. I'm working on something on the computer that is going to take me weeks to finish and i could use that time while he was in orientation to work on it. then he goes somewhere else for 1 day to learn tarping, then gets his truck. there is nothing at all wrong with anything I've just said. only problem with this company is they don't run teams???? i did not ask why, i just figured we would run a year or so with them and if it all worked out OK then we would stay with them till it was time to come home and find a different job that brings him home every night. we are going on the road for only a short time, i have personal reason's why and I'm not telling them as I'm sure someone would not understand our need for some real money fast. this company can give us that and have no problem with me. you say i will distract him. well i know my husband and believe me he needs me to help him find where he's going or he would be pulling over every time he turned around looking at the map.then calling me at home to help him out. he would not go without me, because there are things he needs me for. oh and he is not scared of alittle work doing flat bedding. so everyone that says i will distract him that is only your opinion, its not a fact. one thing he is looking forward to is me being on his blind side to help see, even tho the truck has a warning on that side if someone is in that lane. he calls me several times a day boasting on how all this is going to be so cool for us both. he can't wait for us to get on the road. also someone said something about him staying awake. hello? who best then someone riding with you so you don't get bored? OK I'm so done with this board. this is my last post. i may come back and read, i have a laptop so just because I'm on the road does not mean I'm computer-less. But i will not post anything else here. i have a few questions but i think i will just IM a moderator and ask them.

the lesson i learned on this board was no matter how hard you try to help someone out , in this case passing on a story that happened to us, you will only be ranted and raved at. I'm still trying to understand why i would be attacked so much because my husband and i sat this in motion 21 years ago and are now full filling it. you people (most, not all) are just the rudest people I've ever met. oh and talking to me on the phone is not bad at all. I am a very nice person!

I'm glad we found a company that suits us both, that was what we started out to do and we did it. i wish i had never even posted on this board! I've had some bad things happen in my life in the past 10 months and i thought i had met all the mean people, the ones that just want to hurt you just to do it, but then coming here has showed me that you kind are all over the place.:biggrin_2552:

    I'll pray for you all,
    getting......readytogo

I'm sorry but you have the comprehension of a five year old, and i'm glad that you aren't driving for the company that i take pride in rolling for.

"the lesson i learned on this board was no matter how hard you try to help someone out , in this case passing on a story that happened to us, you will only be ranted and raved at. Exactly how is anything that you've said here helping anybody? If all you came here to say was that they spoke to you rudely, that hardly makes TMC a bad company, and therefore you don't even have any reason to be posting on this particular board. Take your nagging someplace else, this forum is for people who have been hurt, or screwed over by a company, and in order to do that, you would've had to actually worked for them, which you have not.

So, let me spell this out for you: You're leaving, fine. You shouldn't have come here with this ridiculous story that you made into a freaking novel to begin with, someone was rude to you on the phone, jesus, get over it, if you're throwing that big of a fit over a peon that works in an office talking to you on the phone, wait until you get on the road and start dealing with the four wheelers, you won't last a week. Knowing what i know of you now i can't help but be rude to you, because you obviously don't take a hint.

I try to take pride in my ability to debate without insulting people, so i apologize if i crossed a line.

The only point i was trying to make is that she is being disagreed with because the reason for her being here (On this particular board) is still unclear to most of us, TMC is being called a bad company because someone spoke to her husband in a tone that he didn't appreciate, i don't believe that makes the entire company bad, especially since i do not know all of the circumstances regarding this.

Also, i never said that you claimed to have worked for TMC, what i said was simply that you have not worked for them (agreeing with you) and therefore have no reason to come here telling others about how they are a bad company.

There are enough untruthful posts here about TMC, and as a driver for them for over 2 years i am trying to set the record straight. I'll be the absolute first to admit that they do have their downfalls, but i've never had a problem with TMC or it's management, and they've been there for me, above and beyond on numerous occasions, for that they will always have my respect.

    /Salute my fellow drivers

"There is a warning on the blindside"

Oh, Maverick. I believe they have a 3 month wait for riders, too. But i could be mistaken, can anybody confirm this?

Also, the reason i say Maverick is because it's the only flatbed company i know other than TMC that will hire students, and has the vorad system on their trucks, so if i'm wrong feel free to correct me.

Scroll through the posts here, you should get the information your looking for.
I was with them 2 years and loved it, they do have their downfalls, but if your not a pushover you can get around them just fine.
