My freight usually worked out to my advantage when I was OTR, but I refuse to be pushed to make money. I can make money anywhere and I will not be a slave to the comapany. Trucking is a job not a lifestyle--I dont live to drive, I drive to live and I do a pretty good job at it also. BTW, Im not really sure how to seperate this, and really dont care.

I don't know about other truck companies, but I do know that TMC does not allow you to have inverters in your truck.. I guess its a fire hazard maybe? I'm just the wife someone tell me is it? Also to Mr.G you cant say that TMC is a bad company unless you have worked for them.. Everybody has an opinion though, My husband has been with the company for 15 months and he has no issues with them... I still think your just jealous cause TMC has the best trucks...

Now, I don't know where you are getting your information, but somebody's been lying to you. Also, I strongly suggest you tone it down and lose the attitude before you find yourself booted out of here. We don't tolerate that sort of thing on this site. Got it?18wheeldumptrucker Thanks this. -
truckinbiker Mcdonalds is hiring. If you want to be home when you want to. And have your free time and set apt. but your driving a truck. You have load apt. that have to be met. Customers that are depending on you. You set and bad mouth TMC well maybe you just suck at truckdriving flipping burgers at a pilot sounds more like your speed. Would you like some cheese with that wine. I have been driving for the best company in the industry TMC for 15 months and love what I do and who I drive for. I have A 2007 peterbilt that is the Harley davidson of all trucks. And NO not like the old Panheads. Just because you cant handle the job doesn't give you the right to bad mouth TMC. I just finish two days of running In this time I covered 1300 miles legally. So to all of you who can't do it you need to get some trip planning lessons. So you can quit crying. I have been reading all the things you have been saying about TMC. You sound like the super truckers we all laugh at on the radio. So put on your hooded sweatshirt with no sleeves. Your cowboy hat and boots drive your bike to the subway at your nearest pilot I like the steak and pepperjack with lettuce green pepper onion and yellow peppers and hot mustard.

To be off-duty you must be relieved of all company related work.
IOW's you are free to pursue activities away from the truck.
You are expected to NOT perform anything company work related.
If you're busy cleaning the truck (even if it's yours) you are on duty.
Another example of a gotchya is going to the parts store for replacement parts or acc's for the truck in your personal vehicle. You're on-duty.
If you're at walmart buying cleaning products for the truck..on-duty.
If you're home doing company paperwork at your kitchen table...on-duty.
These are somewhat off-the-wall technicalities of course but accurate. -

The companies that make you "live" in your truck are those who really dont care about the driver or what he thinks. Your truck is a tool with which to make money, if you have to "live" in your truck then you are working way to hard for what the company is paying you. -
As far as your posts go, dude, it is your opinion. And what business is it of yours to tell someone "you're wrong". I have yet to step foot in a classroom, but I can tell you, that being an OTR driver, if that is what you want, it IS a lifestyle. When you are away from 'home' for 4-5 maybe 6 days of the week, driving IS your life. Can you just pull over whenever you see a nice golf course, and play a round whenever you want? Obviously not. When you are 1000 miles from home, and are sleeping in the truck most nights of the week, you ARE living out of your truck. Do us all a favor, you've stated your complaints, your opinion, suck it up and listen to everyone elses now. You opened up this can of worms badmouthing TMC, now listen to those who drive for them, and ENJOY THEIR JOB, rather than continuing to spew. Nobody wants to hear it. Not even a guy like me who WANTS to experience driving OTR, because all you are doing, is making truckers look bad. Continue your crying about this not being everything you THOUGHT it would be, you might as well hang it up, and get a job at a warehouse as a laborer.,...or better yet....a delivery driver for Pizza Hut.Rawlco Thanks this.
