I have to completely agree with wingedvisitor. My husbands hire date was in October also. Halloween to be exact and we both are very happy with them so far. We'll see how it works out in the long run, but I'm sure he'll be there for a long time to come.

    Wingedvisitor,
Is that Fleet Manager named KyleB? That was who I had on long haul and he was really good as well. Of course I currently work with a driver at my dedicated gig that could not get along with Kyle at all, so go figure.

    --------------------------------------------

TMC is currently being very selective about who they hire, but there is no hiring freeze.

There is definitely not an across the board hiring freeze, they are moving the boundaries of the hiring area a lot though. In the past week and a half I've seen pretty close to 60 people come in for orientation. They are also taking in a LOT of previous TMC drivers and experienced drivers. Also the rumors about them losing the Deere account don't seem accurate to me. There hasn't been a day go by here where I haven't seen at least a half dozen RGN's with Deere gear on board. From the drivers I've talked to here and what I've seen the work is there but it looks like they are rebuilding their workforce while the market has an overflow of good drivers looking for work.

    Wingedvisitor and Rawlco Thank this.

His fleet manager is named Joe, though I'm not surprised there is more than one really good Fleet manager there...lol

Though, I would think that a smartly crafted contract would include some reasonable notice of termination where there's no wrongdoing. Could be operating under notice.

    That is entirely possible.

They are letting people go because the economy is REALLY bad right now. They offered everyone let go a option. Be laid off or get fired. They at least had the option of taking unemployment. It's just business, they got rid of the worst of their drivers. IT IS LIKE SPORTS, so drive safe, be on time and don't complain. BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A JOB!

There were good drivers who took pride in what they did that got caught up in this mess. So it's not just their worst drivers. I believe i was the target because of all the money that they owed me, or at least that that was part of it.

We'll see what gets put on my DAC, because they still have yet to give me a good reason for letting me go.

No, you are wrong. If you were one of the ones let go, get another job, they won't put anything on your DAC. Pride and results are two different things. Sorry you got let go, but at least be honest!
