Not a fan of the super Carriers never was. Tmc, at least when I started their pay scale was crappy. One week you're at 29 percent the next you were back down to 27 because you went outta route because you didn't follow their routing road by road. And yes far as I can remember they do tell you where to fuel and can't fuel. You are a number to them. I remember vividly sending in my empty macro just to get a call an hr so later saying " oh you're the 10th or 30th truck on the load board in that area. Lol..

One thing can be said with some degree of certainty regarding TMC, and that is to resist the lure of the shiny Peterbilt.

Well, Yes, I know a good deal about the big three. Melton, Maverick, and TMC.
1.Maverick--absoultly no west coast runs, regional division is tops as they get you home every weekend
I worked there I know.
2.Melton---You will have newer equipment starting out as they have purchased many new trucks at the beginning of 2017, You will be going coast to coast and border to border. The home time not the best and a few of the fleet managers are extremely difficult.
3. TMC---training is like going back to bootcamp, great pay after first year and strong new equipment. the trainers seem to have a arrogance problem which can be dangerous around other "inferior" drivers. this can be dangerous as many drivers seem to forget that we work out every day doing flatbed. How do I know, well had to wrestle one to the ground in a rainstorm last year.
All these are from the horses mouth as we do run into each other (figuratively) at many shippers or consigneesBruceWayne911 Thanks this. -
I only have experience with Maverick but I have no complaints about them. They have excellent load securement training. That in itself is worth it. Overall I recommend Maverick, especially for their flatbed division. They are all automatic so you either like that or you don't.
BruceWayne911 Thanks this.
