They do have cdl school in Shelbyville,TN but don't provide lodging. Maybe that's changed, but last time I checked you have to pay for the motel room.
-
Thanks. I’ve been reading about Prime as well and it seems they are about the best for entry level drivers. Thoughts?Need4Speed Thanks this.
-
I wouldn't classify them as the best; just another option.
-
I see, are there any entry level companies you could recommend that provide in house training?
-
Living where you do, I'd put CTL Transportation at the top of the list.
Then:
Contract Freighters
Jim Palmer Trucking
The deal about Prime is, they put you in a small, cramped truck and you have to remove the passenger seat just to have a refrigerator. If you insist on a full size truck, you must agree to a pay cut of something like .05 cents per mile or something like that.Need4Speed Thanks this. -
Sounds good. I appreciate all the advice.

I've never been to any school but from what ive seen out here in the road tmc prepares their school grads much better than the others. That's just an observation based on watching them conduct themselves during loading, securing, tarping, and driving. Melton would be a distant 2nd and everyone else so far behind they might as well be in kindergarten.
-
Very good. I’ll take a look at Melton as well.
